Sixth Form Enrolment

Year 12

Year 11 pupils wishing to return to the Sixth Form will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSE grades A*- C including English and Mathematics to enrol for Level 3 courses. The achievement of GCSE grades A*- B is also strongly recommended for those particular subjects that pupils wish to study at AS Level. The first week of term in September will be devoted to enrolling pupils on courses that are appropriate for them. Mr Bryant will be leading this, with the support and guidance of Miss Powell.  In addition, interviews with pupils and parents may be arranged as required.

Pupils may provisionally enrol on Friday 2nd September 2016. They will need to attend a presentation in Deepweir Rise Room at 8.45am to receive information about enrolment procedures and expectations of them in the Sixth Form. Pupils will then be able to register an interest for courses. Pupils should not assume that registering an interest assures them a place on a course.  After reviewing pupils' examination results, Mr Bryant will confirm pupil enrolment in a letter sent via email to parents by 5 pm on the evening of Monday 5th September 2016.

Courses will commence on Wednesday 7th September 2016. We currently have provisional numbers for courses but the actual numbers are unknown and will depend upon examination results and the final choices that pupils make. As a result, the courses being offered on the Options Form will still be dependent upon sufficient pupil uptake in September.  Please note that pupils may initially enrol for three or four AS courses in September. Examinations will be held towards the end of the Autumn Term to determine those pupils who continue in Year 12 with four courses and those pupils who would benefit from continuing with three instead.

Year 13

Year 12 pupils wishing to return to Year 13 should enrol with Mr Bryant on A-Level results day, 18th August 2016.  A2 courses will commence on Wednesday 7th September 2016.
