Thank you for visiting our website. I am delighted to introduce our school to you.

Caldicot is an 11-18 co-education school with over 1300 students in Monmouthshire. We are located between Chepstow and Newport and the school is easily accessible via the M4 corridor and on the northern side of the Severn Estuary. In September 2017, the school moved to a new £36m purpose-built site and now boasts some of the finest facilities in the country.

Our aim is to ensure that all our students

  • achieve to the best of their abilities;
  • develop a broad range of skills to enable them to be successful in adult life; and
  • leave us with the morals and values which enable them to make a positive contribution to society.

In June 2019, Caldicot School entered into a partnership with The Bishop of Llandaff CiW High School in Cardiff. As part of this arrangement, I will assume overall responsibility for the direction and performance of both schools as Executive Headteacher. I will be spending three days per week at Caldicot, while the day-to-day management will be undertaken by Mr Rees, as Head of School. Collectively, our intention is to share the best practice in learning, teaching and leadership to support sustained performance in both schools. From my very first visit to the Caldicot, I could see the School has infinite potential. Our students, as you will see yourself should you visit us, are on the whole happy, hard-working and positive about the school. In addition, we have a committed team of staff who are enthusiastic and passionate about supporting the young people in our care.

I firmly believe that educating children is a great privilege. Here at Caldicot School, you can be assured we will have the highest expectations of and for our students. We will always focus on improving the quality of the education for our young people and will place great importance on working together in partnership with students, staff and parents to deliver our ambitions. Children have one chance at their education and we will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of providing each student at Caldicot School with an outstanding experience.

I should like to thank those families who entrust their child into our care. At the same time, if you are considering sending your child to Caldicot School or would like to find out more do get in touch. We are open to visitors every day!
