Change in FSM procedure

The decision has now been made that the administering of FSM entitlement while the education sites are closed will now be carried out by the Benefits Team. The will replace the current interim scheme from April 6.   We have set up an online application form for parents who are entitled to FSM to complete and supply us with bank details so we can issue weekly payments to them aimed at providing food for the children while they are at home.  This form is called FSM COVID 19 and can be found under this link   https://iweb.itouchvision.com/portal/f?p=customer:category_link:::::CUID,LANG:AA1D63703E0090511492E053148B01A8C0EB5792,EN&P_LANG=en

Sixth Form revision over Easter

Details of our KS5 Easter Revision Programme have been emailed to families and posted on our communications page. A number of staff will be running voluntary 2 x 2 hour revision/coursework sessions throughout the fortnight to enable students to be fully supported and confident for their forthcoming AS and A2 examinations. A Level Results, 2019

Students at Caldicot School are celebrating their achievements today as they receive their A Level results. Simon Rees, Head of School (Acting) was delighted. “It has been a very exciting morning as, along with improved performance across the school, we have received confirmation from our students of their destinations.  We encourage them to be ambitious and it is wonderful to learn that the majority of them can now begin preparing for the next steps, including many embarking upon a whole range of interesting courses at university.” Peter Nurcombe, Chair of Governors, said “Our staff and students have worked hard over the last 2 years, so it is a pleasure to see them rewarded with these high grades which will allow our students to be successful at university where the large majority of our students will be heading. University is not for everyone however, and I am equally proud of our students who are going to be doing an apprenticeship or entering the world of work. Aerosol Challenge

RE: Recent incidents of students’ inappropriate use of aerosols During the past week, a very small number of our students have used aerosol deodorants unsafely, both in school and at home, which has resulted in them sustaining blisters and burns requiring first aid and/or medical treatment. When asked about their injuries, pupils have stated that they had sprayed the aerosol in close proximity to their skin as a ‘challenge’. Our students have been addressed by their respective Year Tutors about the dangers of engaging in ‘aerosol challenges’ and reminded that they are not permitted to bring aerosols into school.
