Results 2025

Caldicot’s 2025 examination results at both GCSE and A Level reflect a culture of high standards, rising aspirations and expanding opportunities; demonstrating that we are well on the way to cementing our place in the top 20 schools in Wales.

GCSE Results

Our Year 11 students have made us incredibly proud. The mainstream capped points score of 401 represents a significant achievement and a 14-point increase on last year; that’s nearly 2.5 grades higher per student across their best nine subjects. This is not a minor improvement, it’s a giant leap forward.

Among many exceptional performances, a select group achieved the maximum possible points score of 522 – a feat that demands at least 9 A* grades:

These results are more than just letters, they represent the belief that high aspirations, hard work and resilience lead to outstanding achievement.

A Level Results

This year's A Level results reflect a culture of high standards and serious ambition:

  • 81% of students achieved 3 A*-C grades
  • 39% of all grades were A-A*
  • 69% were A-B*
  • 88% were A-C*

This is about futures: 76% of Year 13 applied to university, a 15% increase over two years. Of those who applied:

  • 91% secured their first-choice university
  • 100% secured a place on a course of their choosing

Others opted for top-tier degree apprenticeships, turning down university offers to pursue high-level vocational routes.

At Caldicot, we don’t just prepare students for exams, we prepare them for life
