PTFA

Welcome to the page for Caldicot School PTFA. You may have heard of ‘Parent Teacher Associations’, but we also invite ‘Friends of Caldicot School’ to join us… grandparents, carers etc… so we are the PTFA.

Everyone is welcome to join the PTFA and help make the experience of being a student at Caldicot School as rewarding as possible… and if you join our monthly draw you can also win a cash prize!

Some parents and guardians may have been involved in the PTA of their local Primary School. If so, you will know it is often a small group of individuals who like to raise extra funds for the benefit of students. That is also our primary goal, to provide grants to different departments within the school to buy additional resources that may not otherwise be available.

Some of these grants over the last few years have included

  • £150 for a drum kit;
  • £500 for athletics kit;
  • £1000 for sound equipment;
  • £1000 for computers;
  • £300 for cookery equipment;
  • £300 for drama resources;
  • £200 for gardening club; and
  • £500 for judo mats.

All of these items were purchased with funds raised by supporters of the PTFA. We know that your time is precious, and although we would love all parents to attend PTFA meetings, we understand that this is not always possible.

The Monthly Draw allows you to purchase a number in a lottery style competition at a cost of £2 a month. Every month half of all funds raised are paid as prizes, and half are allocated by the PTFA to requests from staff to enhance student’s learning. Here is a letter with details on how you can join in

  • Helen Davies   – Chairperson;
  • Joyce Norfolk – Treasurer; and
  • Adele Williams – Secretary.

If you have any questions, or would like to get involved in our meetings once every six weeks, then please do not hesitate to get in touch. You can email the school, or Helen Davies on [email protected]
