Everything you’re doing, from social distancing to careful hygiene measures, is helping to stop the spread of coronavirus. We must continue to follow these guidelines to avoid a second wave. We know it’s hard, but please continue to stay at home. ➡️https://t.co/gbEzCzChse https://t.co/eymfMMl2Zr

Rewards & House System

The system of rewards at Caldicot areclosely aligned to the school's house system. Combined, they seekto further promote student achievement as well as contribute to the development of the whole person. The school acknowledges and rewards endeavours shown by our students in the form of House points.

There are four houses within which all students and staff are placed. The house patrons were chosen by public vote and are: Attenborough, Bevan, Curie, and Pankhurst. The house patrons represent the best in British values and reflect our aspirations for our students. The House system provides great opportunities for all students to develop leadership skills, build effective teams and demonstrate positive values through healthy competition at school.

The system is designed to be accessible to students from a range of academic and extracurricular activities.  For clarity we have organized the criteria using the mnemonic LEAD.

Leadership

Working with other students & adults to help develop interpersonal skills

Environment / Ethos

Working to develop a positive environment & ethos for everyone

Achievement

Working to develop yourself in every aspect of life

Dedication

Working to develop perseverance & strength of character.

Badge holders

Students are able to attain house points for any of the above criteria at Bronze, Silver of Gold level. Students who achieve milestones at each level become badge holders and receive an appropriate reward.

Milestones

Bronze – 100 bronze points

Silver – Bronze badge achieved + 50 silver points

Gold – Bronze and Silver badges achieved + 15 gold points

In order to achieve any of the badges, students must have achieved points across the four areas (LEAD). In addition the Deputy Head, Wellbeing and Year Tutors will award a Diamond Award once a year for exceptional performance.
